Great Expectations
Orphan Pip discovers through lawyer Mr. Jaggers that a shadowy benefactor intends to ensure he becomes a gentleman. Reunited with his childhood patron Miss Havisham and his first love, the beautiful yet emotionally cold Estella, he learns that the elderly spinster has spiraled into madness after being left at the altar as a young woman, and has molded her ward into a warped, unfeeling heartbreaker.
