Cantinflas serves as an apprentice to renowned scientist Prof. Arquimides Monteagudo (Carlos Martinez Baena). Yet his spirit is that of a poet rather than a disciplined researcher, as he pursues the formula that would achieve the immortality of the roses. After Prof. Monteagudo's death, Cantinflas is pursued by a ferocious corporate faction intent on stealing the secret formula for a cheaper fuel called 'carburex,' convinced that he alone knows its composition.
