SummerSlam 1989, the second annual WWF pay-per-view, took place on August 28, 1989 at the Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The headlining tag team match pitted The Mega-Maniacs (WWF Champion Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake) against Randy Savage and Zeus. The undercard featured Ted DiBiase versus Jimmy Snuka, Ultimate Warrior versus Rick Rude for the WWF Intercontinental Championship, and Jim Duggan with Demolition (Ax and Smash) facing André the Giant and The Twin Towers (Akeem and Big Boss Man).
