WWE SummerSlam 1992
SummerSlam 1992, the fifth edition of the annual event, took place on August 29 at Wembley Stadium in London, England, with the broadcast airing in the United States on August 31. The pay-per-view spotlight centered on two headline matches. In the first, The Ultimate Warrior challenged Randy Savage for the WWF Championship; the Warrior emerged victorious by count-out but did not claim the title. In a second marquee bout, Davey Boy Smith, the British Bulldog, pinned Bret Hart to capture the WWF Intercontinental Championship. The WWF Tag Team Championship was also defended, as The Natural Disasters retained their belts in a victory over the Beverly Brothers. Among the undercard's marquee clash was Shawn Michaels vs. Rick Martel, a bout governed by a special stipulation prohibiting hits to the face, which ended in a double count-out. The WWF regards the live crowd at Wembley as the third-largest attendance in the history of WWF/E events, with 80,355 fans in attendance.
