WWE SummerSlam 2005

SummerSlam 2005 marked the eighteenth edition of WWE's premier summer pay-per-view, presented in conjunction with THQ's WWE Day of Reckoning 2. The event took place on August 21, 2005, at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C., and featured talent from both Raw and SmackDown brands. The Raw lineup was highlighted by Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels. On SmackDown, the main bout was a No Holds Barred World Heavyweight Championship match between Batista and John 'Bradshaw' Layfield (JBL). Another key Raw bout saw John Cena challenge Chris Jericho for the WWE Championship. The undercard culminated in a Ladder match for the custody of Dominick between Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero.
