Marriage Counselor Tora-san

In Shibamata, Tokyo, Tora-san’s family is busy preparing for a wedding. At the same time, the wandering Tora-san encounters an old acquaintance in Iwate Province. Fearing that this now settled and married friend may once again be drawn to Tora-san’s restless way of life, Tora-san refuses to drink with him. Tora-san then develops feelings for a female barber, but is forced to end the relationship so she can pursue a stable and secure future. She later becomes involved in an abusive relationship with a motorcyclist.
