Tora-san's Island Encounter
Akemi, Tora-san’s family neighbor who had married in Marriage Counselor Tora-san (1984), flees from her husband, a man consumed entirely by his work. Tora-san pursues her to Shikinejima in an effort to persuade her to return home. Along the way, he comes across a group of classmates traveling to reunite with their elementary school teacher, a clear nod to Keisuke Kinoshita’s Twenty-Four Eyes. Tora-san joins their journey and soon finds himself falling in love with the teacher.
