Tora-san, Wish You Were Here

The 50th installment in the Tora-san film series combines archival footage with newly filmed scenes to commemorate the franchise’s 50th anniversary. In the story, the adult Mitsuo, Tora-san’s nephew, reunites with Izumi, his first love, to whom he once promised marriage. Familiar faces from Kurumaya Cafe, the Shibamata establishment once run by Tora-san’s family, also make a return. As old friends reconnect, it is always their most cherished memories of Tora-san that everyone shares on such occasions…
